Hi everyone, I have been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (triple negative) and the team of doctors have planned for me to start with neoadjuvant chemotherapy to reduce the tumor and lymph nodes prior to surgery. The chemo will take place every other Wednesday for 16 weeks. Without a doubt the saddest part is not being able to teach my little dancers who have kept me so happy while I awaited my diagnosis. I am the luckiest person in the world to have support and prayers from all over. Most of you know that I am currently in Canada at our cottage on the Saint Lawrence River with a gorgeous view and very green grass. I am surrounded by my family, very many cousins and relatives. My beautiful daughter Laura will join us in September. I am in a less densely populated area - 46,000 people with 23 of 24 cases of Covid-19 resolved - so I feel safe to battle the cancer without the major stress of the virus. Eventually I will make my way back to San Diego. Maybe I'll be recovered as a vaccine is found and the dance studios and libraries will be open for me to share my creative dance again.
