In September 2021, mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She went from being incredibly healthy to, wow, she has a lot on her plate right now. She said it best when she asked the doctor, "What happened to Stage 1, 2 or 3?" She said what we were all wondering. Apparently pancreatic cancer is a sneaky jerk that doesn't show itself until it's advanced.
Since the diagnosis she has been going to appointment after appointment in an effort for her medical team to truly understand everything going on inside of her body so they best know how to move forward with treatment.
Mom is so blessed to have the love and support of so many family members and friends who are all asking, "What can we do to help?". While we're still in the "investigation" phase, there's not a lot to do right now but ask friends to visit with her as she feels up to it. She's enjoying doing her puzzles and talking with friends.
We do ask that friends listen and share with her all of the things going on in your life or own health journey, but try not to tell her what she "should be doing". This has been a whirlwind diagnosis and she has placed her faith in her medical team and she is confident in her care.
Mom will be visiting this site as much as she is able. She also enjoys calls, texts and FaceTime as she is feeling up to it. Her spirits are good. She is strong considering all she is dealing with.
