April 2009 : Kate was diagnosed at age 29 with stage 3 ovarian low grade serous carcinoma (LGSC) following an exploratory surgery that took a serious turn and resulted in a total abdominal hysterectomy. Endocrine treatment followed. March 2013: Kate was diagnosed with a recurrence of ovarian LGSC which had spread to lymph nodes in the abdomen and right axilla. Kate had two surgeries in April 2013 to remove all visible progressive disease. Endocrine treatment followed indefinitely. April 2021: Kate was diagnosed with a recurrence of ovarian LGSC in lymph nodes that have spread to the left anterior chest wall. Surgery and treatment are impending.
