Welcome to our Caring Bridge website; we are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Steve's daughter Kassidy came to live with us in late August, just after her twelfth birthday. She had an enlarged tonsil for two months and, after multiple trips to three different doctors, she had a tonsillectomy on October 13th. Less than two weeks later, the biopsy results confirmed that it was lymphoma, and Wednesday the 26th she was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL), sub-type Large B-cell. Fortunately, it was caught very early as it is only Stage I; additionally, we are extremely lucky that it is localized and did not spread anywhere else in her body. She is being treated at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, Virginia, and her doctors are hopeful that she will be finished with chemotherapy before the end of this year!
