This is about my sister Kasia.  She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer with metastasis to lymph nodes 2 weeks ago. It is the most common type and thankfully curable thyroid cancer, nevertheless it is already putting strain on their family. Even despite being blessed with wonderful doctors that guide her through the process of illness, and family and friends that are supportive, due to symptoms and doctors visits she is not able to work and it might last for quite a few months.
The first big step that is in front of her is neck surgery to remove the thyroid gland and all lymph nodes on the left side. Surgery will be performed in Warsaw by Dr. Elzbieta Stachlewska-Nasfeter M.D. Ph D. After recovery in the hospital for 4-7 days, she  will be recovering at home for about 8 weeks while waiting for radiation therapy. Kasia will be undergoing  radiation therapy in Świetokrzyski Cancer Center in Kielce.  Both locations require travel from their home town and possibly staying overnight in the hotel.
Kasia is my younger sister, who is one of my best friends. Professionally  she is an English language teacher and mother of 2 daughters :Gabi-15and Zuzia-11.
Kasia has been married happyly  to her husband Pawel for almost 19 years .
They  both are very hardworking,  self sufficient and caring people.  They do not ask for help, but would rather help those in need. 
At this time they are in a tough situation when health problem prevents them from being able to  work enough to support their family.


We are raising money to help them pay their regular  and medical bills and  cover necessary travel costs while Kasia is not able to work.
