On Monday, August 17th, I was waiting on a phone call from the doctor to ease my mind regarding a tiny lump that was biopsied. I found this lump about a week prior while at work. I know, what you are thinking.... "how she find it at work?" As a lactation consultant, I am honored to be with new parents in a very special and intimate time after birth. I cupped my hand over my pink scrub top to show a mom how to place her own hand. I do it all the time. This time was different. I found the little fucker.
I was confident that the call would allow me to enjoy my family beach trip with a clear head, as I had no family history or other symptoms. Unfortunately, that is not how the call went down.
Fast forward and now it is war. I am set to start chemo on Wednesday, September 9th, and overall, has a 20 week plan . it's going to be a journey put your seatbelts on!
