Hi everyone!! My name is Karson Jefferson and here is my story.
I am a four year old boy who has the diagnosis of Panhypopituitarism.  This diagnosis covers the spectrum of the several diagnosis I have and makes it easier for medical staff to quickly identify with my needs. I have a total of 9 diagnosis. Diabetes Insipidus or hyponatremia, ACTH deficient or hypoadrenalism, GHD (growth hormone deficiency), hypothyroidism, hypotonia, hypothalamic obesity, septo-optic dysplasia, optic nerve hypoplasia, and sleep apnea.    Panhypopituitarism is a pituitary gland malfunction which controls all the hormones in our bodies. When these hormones in our body does not function properly it is life threatening.  This makes me a endocrine patient.  I also have several other doctors to help with some of my other diagnosis but this one is the main one.  This admission to this facility focuses on the obesity problem that I have which is Hypothalamic Obesity.   It is very difficult for my body to metabolize.  I also do not physically walk which does not allow me to get my daily natural exercise  that most children my age do.  This facility specializes in this area.  We are so grateful for such a facility.  It is considered a acute care facility because these are the measures that are taken before other life altering changes occur.  My work is cut out for me.  My family will be right here by my side pushing me very hard and so can you!!
