Karla Jacquin

Welcome to Karla's Caring Bridge site...this was started because Karla is so deeply loved and appreciates all of her family and friends concerns, calls & texts.  She wanted one place where we could provide periodic updates as she has found it impossible to respond to all of the wonderful outpouring of love and support she is receiving.  This is a place for everyone to check in on her and leave comments in one place to make it easier on her as she KICKS CANCERS BUTT!!!  


As many of you know, Karla was diagnosed this month with Stage 2A Ovarian Cancer.   She appears to be fully recovered from her hysterectomy and some issues that arose a week after which required another week hospital stay.  She has seen Dr. Powell the oncologist (who is also easy on the eyes~Joy's comment :) and is scheduled to have her port put in on Monday Feb 25 and then her first chemo treatment is set for Wed Feb 27.  Dr. Powell said the current best treatment plan for Ovarian Cancer is six cycles of chemo, once every three weeks.   



Karla appreciates all of the prayers being lifted on her behalf and asks that they keep coming in the days ahead.   The outpouring of love, support and prayers have been overwhelming and she is drawing strength from them all!     



If you feel inclined, I (Joy) set up on "ways to help" a calendar to sign up for dinners (on Mondays & Thursdays) because so many people have offered.     It takes a village & Karla is grateful you are all apart of hers!!!
