As some of you may know Kari is in the hospital. Below was written by her Mom, Leah Jorstad and her niece Taylor, daughter of Kari's twin sister Karin Schendt.
When Kari and Tom were on their fishing trip in Florida, Kari had another vertigo attack and headaches. That went on for 6 weeks and she didn't feel like she needed to go to the doctor, however, we kept encouraging her to do so. Then she lost her focus, her directions and she would get lost driving. Tom took her to the ER April 5th for a CT scan on her head. They found a large tumor on her brain and at that point they took her to the Nebraska Med Center. She received another CT scan and MRI. They found a lesion also in her lung and 2 more small lesions on her brain. As we are writing this, she is now recovering from brain surgery in the ICU for a couple of days. They removed the brain tumor successfully and after healing, she will get her lungs checked out. Even through all the pain, Kari managed to still smile at Grandma's and Tom's jokes.
She also danced and sang worship songs walking in the pre-op room and the nurse whispered, "you are giving people hope!" We know that our hope and Kari's hope rests firmly in Jesus Christ, God's Son who died and has risen again and lives through Kari and ALL believers, still revealing God The Father's Heart of love, compassion, mercy and forgiveness.
