I am not sure how many people would be grateful for pneumonia, but I am.

Many of you know that I had been waiting to have hip replacement surgery, but because of the pneumonia, my surgery was delayed.  After a couple weeks my body was not responding to the antibiotics that were prescribed, which resulted in a CT Scan.  The CT Scan showed a suspicious spot on the middle lobe of my right lung and the PET Scan confirmed that I indeed had the early stages of lung cancer.  The “early stage” diagnosis keeps me very optimistic.  My surgery has been scheduled for Monday, March 13th.

We plan on using this CaringBridge web page as a tool to keep everyone informed as things move forward.  Thank you for your love and support!
