On December 20, 2021, Karen O'Connor received a diagnosis of cancer after biopsying at least two lymph nodes for ongoing inflammation. What has transpired since then has been a whirlwind of further testing, holiday scheduling delays and the emotional highs and lows of a new reality.
Now what?
While details on staging and treatment are still to be determined, what we do know at this point is that Karen and family are embarking on a journey that was not anticipated nor prepared for. What we also know is that we have every reason to be optimistic and hopeful for a successful outcome.
About Karen
Karen is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her husband, Ciaran and children, Cavan (12), Finn (10) and Elliott (8) are her world. She is an incredibly driven and involved mother who selflessly volunteers her time at schools and the swim team. Those that know her know that she has the strength to take this journey head on and persevere.
What you can do?
At this time, please keep Karen and her family in your thoughts and prayers, especially over the holiday season. A Meal Train is attached to this page (see "Ways to Help") for those wishing to bless them with a meal. There is a long road ahead and we will use this page to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
