Karen Miller

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. Hi everyone, this is Sarah, Karen Miller's daughter. The family and I have created this website to keep everyone informed of updates through this new process. As many of you know, Karen had a successful surgery in February to remove a tumor on her kidney. Beyond that there were nodules on her lungs that were cause for concern and the doctors wanted to biopsy it. On May 11th, she was given the results that the cancer had spread to her lungs. Since the results were given, things have progressed quickly with tests in order to start treatment. She is scheduled to start a treatment on May 30th which is a biologic called Interleukin -2 (IL-2) which hyper drives the immune system to fight the cancer.  She will be hospitalized for 5-7 days for the first treatment, will come home for a week, and then be back in the hospital for the second round of treatment for another 5-7 days. We are uncertain what to expect, but know it'll be a tough couple of weeks, so please keep her in your prayers.


We want this page to be a place to keep everyone informed and an uplifting place for mom to come to if she needs it. For the most part the updates will come from me or my brothers, Russell and Eric. We will do our best to update the page as we have more info and keep you all in the loop.
