Hi Friends and family. I was first diagnosed in October 2016 with Myxofibrosarcoma. My doctors have told me this is a rare sarcoma. I  had  surgery in November 2016 to remove a large tumor  from my left back upper thigh area. It was a long 6 months of healing.  I am healthy enough now to take the next step. This type of cancer is known for metastasis, spreading to other areas of my body. In May 2017 I went to see my wonderful Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ward,   in Winston and had my routine CT scans and MRI. The results of these scans came back negative, meaning no suspicious areas.  I was referred to Oncology soon after for opinions on whether to do radiation and/or chemo.   I had my PET scan in mid May,  The scan picked up two suspicious areas, one was a nodule on my left lung. I was told in a very hard meeting with my oncologists  the cancer has spread.  I am set to have chemotherapy to try to reduce or eliminate this evil disease. Randy and I are taking each day at a time. We are going to fight this. We both are looking to our almighty Lord and Savior for strength and healing.
