Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

This is Karalea.
She is 11 months old. Starting around 4 months old, her eczema started and has only gotten worse. Parents have tried absolutely every remedy known, to try and heal her skin. Nothing has helped, after hundreds of visits to the doctor, still nothing has worked. She has been severely itchy and red from head to toe since then and has thus impeded growth and development due to her body trying to fight this. She began gagging, choking and vomiting after nursing which led to some weight loss and dehydration so Karalea was brought to the ER and admitted to the pediatric ICU as critical. Her electrolytes are severely imbalanced, protein is extremely low, may have food absorption issues, immune system issues, adrenaline, thyroid and other hormone issues, and a UTI. The recomended treatment in the pediatric ICU at this point has been to rehydrate her to correct and recorrect imbalances, give her steroids, and antibiotics to start. She had a central line placed and once levels are balanced, will most likely start IV nutrition. Many tests are being performed to determine the next steps. Please keep Karalea and her parents in your prayers. They will need as much financial assistance as possible to help support them during this undetermined ICU stay.

If you would like to support them financially, e-mail me at Kaylarae.clan@gmail.com and I will have you send them money directly instead of through the gofundme which takes out a percentage. Thank you to everyone who has been so caring, supportive and generous during this heartbreaking time. Thank you for all the prayers as well, God is good and sovereign and has her in his hands.
