Kannon's mom noticed a golden glow in Kannon's left eye when reviewing pictures on her cell phone. At the beginning of April the glow could be seen with the right lighting without the camera. Kannon was diagnosed with retinoblastoma (a rare eye cancer) on April 20th, 2015. Kannon saw Dr. Desai the ocular oncologist at Children's Mercy in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Desai referred Kannon to be treated in New York, New York at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center by Dr. Abramson.
