Kane needs a heart transplant, without a transplant he only has 1-3 years to live. 💔
Unfortunately, even with a heart transplant life expectancy isn’t that great (maybe. 10-15 years). Hopefully there are great medical advances in the next 10-15 years🤞🏼🙏. The Pediatric heart transplant group I am in is giving me lots of hope for his future. ! 🙏
We have already started the initial evaluation process and hopefully in the next 2 to 4 weeks will officially be on the transplant list. Once we are on the list we will always need to stay within 4 hours from the hospital, so I am really glad I was able to take the boys on vacation to the Lake of the Ozarks.
As for Ken and I:
It's really hard to process... I can't swallow the fact the he may not live into his 20's and I can't even think about the actual transplant surgery.
I wasn't going to go on vacation when we found out on Friday, June 17th, but the cardiologist gave him an OK to fly Saturday and she encouraged me to go on vacation telling me that we should do what we can now to make sure he lives the best life he can. 💔🥹
