Welcome to our CaringBridge site. It has been created to keep friends and family updated about our loved one.

My Story is the introduction to our CaringBridge site.

Be sure to read the latest in the journal, view the photo gallery, and drop us a line in the guestbook. My name is Kaleb Montgomery. I am 5 years old. Just two days after my 5th birthday party, I became very sick. My Mommy took me to Children's Hospital and I was admitted with pneumonia on Dec 22, 2005. The very next morning I had surgery to put a chest tube in to drain the extra fluid . I was very sick with high fevers. I had CT scan on Christmas morning. This CT scan showed that I might have something called a "mass" in my lung. Mommy and Daddy were pretty scared. Over the next couple of days I had my Chest tube removed, and had to go to surgery again the very next day to have two more put in. I had some problems during this surgery, lost alot of blood, and had to spend two nights in ICU. The first night, I was on a ventilator. I do not remember much from that night. The Surgeon came in and told mommy and daddy that I was very sick, I had rhabdomyosarcoma. It is a form of cancer. My oncologist, Dr. Broxon, sent my lung tissue to Columbus to be studied more. A new diagnosis of Pleuropulmonary Blastoma was made. I had surgery on New years day to put in a infusaport, so that I can receive special medicine called "chemotherapy." I also had two bone marrow biopsies while I was asleep.

I began My "chemo" on Jan. 4,2006. They told me I would not get sick, but 40 minutes later I threw up all over the woman giving me my hearing test. Poor lady! I stayed sick for two days.
