Kai is 17 years old and a senior at Helix High School. He should be excited about graduating, spending times with friends and enjoying this milestone of entering adulthood. Instead, he was thrown a curveball. On May 15th, he was experiencing pain in his arms, felt dizzy and fell down. He was taken to urgent care and had a series of blood tests done. The results seemed suspicious so he was transferred to Rady's Children Hospital. More testing was done and he was given the diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Type B. This is the most treatable and curable form of leukemia, thank heavens! This is only the beginning and now the journey begins of health and well-being!
