Hello everyone.  This will seem odd coming from me since I can't seem to keep up with my Facebook account on a yearly basis, but since this happened there has been so much support I need to have a place where people can go to find out stuff.  I am going to commit to updating this weekly, with the goal of daily.  However, some days are going to be harder than others.

So, my story.....

Well, I was diagnose with Multiple Myeloma towards the end of January, beginning of February.  Basically, I started to notice that I was a bit more fragile than usual.  I was cracking ribs easily, had back pain, etc....  Now anyone who knows my three boys would maybe have just attributed it to pulled muscles and their "spirited" nature, and so did I for a while.  After seeing a chiropractor for a while to get my back "fixed" with little result, he order x-rays on my spine and ribs.  There we noticed two compression fractures in my spine (T6 and T11 for those interested).  My primary care physician did some more investigation, and found translucencies in my bones.  That prompted a trip to an oncologist, and one bone marrow biopsy and skeletal scan later confirmed it.   I could get into the staging and all that, but there seems to be some confusion here.  There are multiple scales, and one of those is changing in the coming months.  In all practical sense, none of that matters to me.  I have cancer, and it's not welcome.  staging doesn't change anything.

Of course, this isn't the end of the story, and I intend the journal to continue it.
