Justin was involved in a dirt bike accident on Sunday, July 19th which resulted in life changing injuries. He sustained a T7-T8 burst fracture in his back which lead to paralysis from the waist down. He also has broken ribs on the right and left side. He had a hemothorax (blood in his chest cavity) on the right side as well and had a chest tube was inserted to relieve the pressure and drain the blood out. He was admitted to the ICU as he had an unstable spinal injury and needed to be monitored closely. On Monday, July 20th he went into surgery with the neurosurgeon and orthopedic surgeon to place rods and pins to his back. The rods and pins extend from T2-T10. They were able to decompress the spinal cord during this but unfortunately this was a devastating injury and is considered a complete spinal cord injury. He was in the ICU for another day before being transferred out to the surgical floor. Now we wait for the healing process and to work with therapies and get him into a rehab facility.

We will be keep updates as much as possible but continue to pray for a fast recovery for both mind and body.

Here is a youtube channel we created to be able to upload videos of things Justin has been working on at Craig.
