Juliet had a ruptured cerebral aneurysm on Monday morning, September 11. She landed in Our Lady of the Lake hospital in Baton Rouge in the Neuro ICU. There was a very large bleed. Neurosurgery was successful and a coil was placed to stop the bleeding and a ventricular drain was placed.
The course has been rocky. On Wednesday the endotrachael tube was removed and she was able to speak, reply to questions and execute movements of all her limbs upon command. Thursday after 18 hours off the ventilator she aspirated and required the reinsertion of the breathing tube. Vital signs have been unstable. Managing has been difficult and the prognosis is guarded.
We watch and wait with apprehension. The physicians and nurses caring for her are excellent and very dedicated, kind and gentle. This sad time is hard and we place our anguish in God's hands. Please pray for our Juliet and all of us who wait.
