On October 11, 2017, three months after giving birth to our son, Julie was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer. She has had medical appointments and tests almost every day since. Yesterday, (10/23), Julie completed her first day of chemotherapy with the same courage, strength, and grace that she has shown every day since her diagnosis. This morning, she took the kids to school and went to work. This should not surprise those of you who know Julie well.
The love and support from family and friends in the past couple of weeks have left us without words. Julie has an incredible medical team providing compassionate, aggressive, treatment. We know this will be tough journey, but Julie's strength and faith and will are unrelenting. We enjoy blessings each day that we otherwise would have overlooked, and I remain the luckiest husband around.
Many have asked about how things are going and how they can help. I will surely fumble through much of this, but I'll do my best to update you on Julie's progress. I'll include more details regarding diagnosis and the daily events in the journal entries.
