On January 26, Julie had a routine colonoscopy, albeit later than suggested. (She argues that she is still in her fifties.) The results determined that there is a small tumor in the sigmoid colon.  Surgery is scheduled for Thursday, February 22.  Hospital stay is expected to be at least three days, and recovery could be anywhere from one month to six weeks.

Julie is grateful for your positive vibes and healing energy - all prayers are welcome.  Her sense of humor is well-intact, so be sure to bring laughter to her table!  She would also like to urge you, if you have been putting off this procedure in your own healthcare journey . . . to stop procrastinating and just do it! This one procedure can actually help prevent cancer.

Her medical team anticipates the surgery and recovery to fall within normal parameters. As all hopes are for a fully successful removal of the tumor with no follow-up chemo required, and a return to work from home within a couple weeks and relative normalcy shortly thereafter, this news and site are not being shared widely. You are among the group receiving this link; please do not share at this time. May this site soon be unnecessary.

Thank you for all you do, and for your continued support over the days, weeks, and months ahead.  She is well aware that she has the very best people! (Yes, I sure do!!!)
