My story by Julianne NILAN.
Heart Problems run in both sides of my family. I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse (M.V.P.) as a Freshman at Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, N.J.  In 1983. I had tried out and made the Ladies Volleyball team. During training I was having difficulty keeping up running laps. I was sent for a checkup at the Family Dr. Raimo in Clark, N.J. who referred me to a Cardiologist, who diagnosed me with M.V.P. a Heart Condition. I was immediately put on medication and taken off the Volleyball Team.
I had to take medication prior to any dental visit and for surgery. This went on for many years, but is no longer required for routine dental work. I have no restrictions because of M.V.P.
