Julianna's middle name is Hope. A name we gave her just 20 weeks into my pregnancy, because that is when her miraculous story began and we thought the name fitting since it is what we clung to for her from that moment on.
At her ultrasound at 20 weeks, the doctors told us she had no kidneys and therefore no chance at life. I was advised to abort her. But clearly there was another plan for her and she made her grand and LOUD entrance into the world as a full term strong healthy baby. She is an amazing child full of life, attitude, incredibe intelligence and absolute beauty - though some might argue I'm biased.
Fast forward 10 1/2 years and it appears those little kidney's that could, are getting tired. We have been referred to a transplant team and are starting the process of finding Julianna a new healthy kidney. So once again, we will cling to the word hope and are excited to see how the next chapter of her journey will unfold.
