Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
Julia had strokes due to blood clots in her brain in spring of 1995, leaving her paralyzed in both legs and her left arm.  She was in Germany, at the time studying Turkish linguistics.  After a year and stays in 3 different hospitals in Germany, she returned to Minnesota.  After stays in 3 different facilities in the Twin Cities area,  she settled down in a long term care facility in Robbinsdale, Mn., where she lived for many years.  In 2016 she moved to the Johanna Shores facility in Arden Hills, Mn.  She loves conversation and hasn't lost her passion for linguistics.  She occasionally still peppers her conversations with words and phrases from a variety of languages.   She also uses a repertoire of plays on words in English.   Julia has retained a remarkable sense of humor and interpersonal warmth in spite of boredom,  intense physical pain and significant physical restrictions.  Julia loves mail!!  Mail can be sent to: 3220 Lake Johanna Blvd #418 Arden Hills, Mn 55112
