On December 26th JuLee discovered a lump in her breast the size of an avocado pit. She wasted no time, and contact her OBGYN and met with her doctor on December 31st. Her doctor scheduled her for a Mammogram and ultrasound. At that appointment the radiologist recommended her to get a biopsy immediately on her left breast. The biopsy was taken on January 14th. JuLee was contacted by her doctor on January 18th, which was the day she was diagnosed with Infiltrating Ductile carcinoma.
Her OB/GYN referred her to Cancer care northwest in Spokane Washington. She then was scheduled on February 3rd. She met with Dr. Welsh at Cancer care Northwest and started a plethora of tests. These tests included MRIs, bone scans, labs, CT scans, and more biopsies. After all of these tests they figured out that JuLee had infiltrating ductal carcinoma triple negative stage two breast cancer. This cancer is more aggressive than originally thought. JuLee was told that they found a spot in her other breast as well. Dr. Welsh and her team decided that the plan of action was to start JuLee on chemotherapy for 5 months starting on February 25th. After these 5 months of chemotherapy JuLee then will receive surgery, double mastectomy and ovaries removed and possibly radiation.
JuLee had a full-time job in Sandpoint at a darling little bistro downtown. She has now had to leave her job, find childcare every week and travel to and from Sandpoint for her chemotherapy treatments. JuLee and her husband Andy have two beautiful daughters. Norah age 4 and Emma 9 months. Andy works at Home Depot in Sandpoint Idaho and will try to support his wife and family in anyway possible during this tough time, he is adamant about working hard to keep their insurance.
During this difficult and tragic time JuLee and her family could use all the support, prayers, well wishes, meals and any donations of any sort. We will keep you posted on JuLee’s journey.
