On October 4, 2017, Judith was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer which had spread to her liver, kidney and brain. Once the diagnosis was confirmed, we finally had some answers to the health challenges she had been facing the past couple of years.  I was fortunate to spend the last seven weeks of her life with her.  She was able to remain at home under hospice care.  However, once we got the pain under control, she felt so good she ended up falling and breaking her hip while taking out the recycling - a task that she no longer had to do.  The surgery was successful and rehab enabled her to return home and celebrate Thanksgiving with the family.  She spent the last week of her life laughing over silly things and keeping a positive attitude.   She passed in her sleep on November 27, 2017.  We are deeply thankful for the support of Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, the Pulaski Heights Methodist Church community, her amazing community of wonderful friends who helped us both beyond words, for our loving and wonderful family and, for my husband Robert and my mother in law Debbie who held us both up at the very end.
