3/13/20: Joyce took a nasty fall at home in Trout Creek Thursday afternoon, March 12th both hitting her head and her right side/hip. Eddie and their neighbor Mike were close by and called 911 right away. She was taken to Clark Fork Valley Hospital by ambulance and was subsequently airlifted from there to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. She did experience a brain injury with a hematoma (bleed) of which they are watching closely. She fortunately, did not break her hip or any other bones- she does have a nasty bruise on her hip and a black eye!
She was unresponsive the first couple of days and has been more responsive/talking the last 12 hours or so. Mom is smiling, giving kisses and seems happy when we engage with her. Given the national Coronavirus pandemic, visitors are restricted in the hospital. We are anticipating further restriction as the days progress.
