Welcome to our CaringBridge website. I've created it (on her behalf) to keep friends and family updated about our journey.   Feel free to leave Mom notes in the guestbook - she is reading them all now and we'll read them to her if or when she can't!

* Mom passed away from complications of her pancreatic cancer on February 12, 2010.  She fought Goliath with dignity and grace.

After several weeks of stomach discomfort and symptoms, Mom had an ultrasound on Friday, June 19th, where they found a blockage in her pancreatic duct.  Her gall bladder was enlarged and dilated, but they couldn't find any stones that would cause the blockage, so they ordered a contrast CT scan.  The CT showed a mass in the head of the pancreas (about 3cm) that was causing the blockage.  We are in a waiting phase right now to find out the next steps - we suspect that a stent will be placed to open the duct and a biopsy will be done at that time.  When we get more news, I will update the site.  Over the weekend, the symptoms have progressed - she is experiencing jaundice and increased pain, especially after eating.  Right now we are praying for a call and miracles.
