Joy was diagnosed with a Grade 2 slow growing Astrocytoma (which is brain cancer)  in December 1998.  She underwent brain surgery, 4 out of 6 cycles of chemo plus 6 weeks of radiation.  After completion,  she was followed by Oncology for 15 years.  Her last MRI was August 2013,  which was negative and with no symptoms she was discharged from Oncology.

Over the last several months, she was showing a few symptoms,  so she had a MRI on July 6, 2018.  Unfortunately the results of that MRI showed her tumor had returned.  We will meet with the Neurosurgeon on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 to discuss options and plan the next steps.

Please follow Joy's caring bridge site to stay updated on her journey back to being cancer free and please keep Joy in your prayers every day for healing and strength.
