Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On September 26, Joy was a passenger in a car accident on Marin in Berkeley. Thankfully, she survived with no life-threatening injuries. However, she is in a lot of pain from a broken sternum, fractured ribs and two broken vertebrae. She is currently in Kaiser Hospital Oakland and is due to be discharged in the next couple of days. Many of you have heard this news through the grapevine and others have not. Lyla and Theresa are caring for her and Bob and have not been able to call everyone that should be called! If that's you - please accept our apologies!!
There have been outpourings of love and support and we all thank you. This love keeps Mom afloat and boosts her spirits immensely. And she has been in REMARKABLE spirits, so thank you all for your calls, visits and messages. On this website, we will be able to communicate with everyone easily as well as coordinate all of the offers of help (meals, visits, etc). She (and Bob, for whom she was caregiver) will need lots of help once Lyla and Theresa have to return to their families and jobs.
Please share this website with anyone who should be included - we know that we can't possibly have included everyone we should at the beginning, but we hope to get everyone added soon! Please reach out to Lyla at email@example.com if you know someone who should be added to this website community and I'll send them an invitation.
