Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Joyce. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Some background .... While on a family cruise, Joyce experienced severe headaches and fatigue which led to our early departure and return to Cincinnati. Upon tests conducted on March 28th-29th, Joyce received a preliminary diagnosis of glioblastoma brain cancer. On April 4th, a biopsy was performed at James Cancer Center located on Ohio State University campus where the diagnosis was confirmed. On April 17th, Joyce and I will return to the James Cancer Center to obtain her treatment plan based on an analysis of the tissue taken during the biopsy. At this time, Joyce is extremely fatigued and anxious to begin her treatment which likely will begin with six weeks of daily radiation and chemotherapy. It is our hope and belief that this will be performed in the Cincinnati area. We are so grateful for everyone's love, support, and prayers.
