Saturday August 29th, Josh, our 15 yr old, was at his great grandfather’s doing some yard work and other chores. My grandpa was so amazing he was 94 yrs old but was still going strong. He didn’t believe in wasting time. He continued to share God’s word, help those in need, teach and love people. He wanted to teach my boys hard work and life skills. Josh didn’t just go over to do the work alone, no Grandpa Ralph was right beside him. Talking to him and teaching life, how to be a man if God. He was so amazing! After they finished up Grampa insisted on bringing him home (we are less than 2 miles away) as they made their way home they came into the path of two trucks racing down West street. Both trucks broadsided his car on the passenger side where our Josh was sitting. My Grandpa died at the scene and Josh was in critical condition. If you know me, you know one how much I love my kids and two how close I was with my Grandparents. As I write this I struggle because I have been focused on Josh for the past 2 days that I hadn’t let myself think about grandpa. I just typed this 3 times..there are no words to explain how I feel about losing him. 😞

Josh’s injuries: First we are so thankful he is alive! He had no head injuries. What a miracle! He has a broken bone in his neck, clavicle and scapula, 7 broken ribs, pelvis is broken in multiple places and the femoral neck was broke. He also has a severally bruised lung and a traumatic bladder rupture. Saturday they tried to operate on the bladder but were unsuccessful due to other injuries. The first night he was bleeding internally due to all of the injuries and had low blood pressure. Basically he wasn’t stable, it was rough! He was finally stable enough to have surgery yesterday on his femoral neck/head. This was a critical surgery for his future mobility. Surgeon said it went well! Last night they were able to take out the breathing tube and he was very happy about that! Later this week we will have a few more surgeries for the other breaks. We are working on finding a pediatric urologist for his bladder injury. We will probably have to move him to another hospital that specializes in what he needs. Lungs are getting better and hopefully the chest tube will come out soon! I think I covered everything but I’ll try to keep everyone updated. We love you all so so much and thank you for your support!
