Joseph Mouton Carroll "Joseph" Mouton

First post: Nov 6, 2022
My name is Carroll "Joseph" Mouton, and I need a life-saving kidney transplant.

I'm a single dad with one daughter and two young grandkids, ages 11 and 13, living in Louisiana. No one in my family can donate, so I'm spreading the word to find a caring individual willing to help me by becoming a living kidney donor.

I'm looking for a living kidney donor because my kidney function is decreasing, and I will soon need dialysis. A living-donor kidney transplant will help me avoid a potential four-year wait on the donation list and the need for dialysis. According to transplant statistics, recipients of living-donor kidney transplants also typically live 3-5 years longer (an average of 15-20 years) than recipients of deceased-donor transplants.

My blood type is A+, so a living donor match for me must be A+, A-, O+, or O-. The age of the donor is not important. My insurance will cover the cost of your testing, surgery, and stay at the Oschner Medical Center.

The physical and emotional challenges of living with kidney disease have been difficult. Physically, feeling my body change and get weaker with my necessary diet change has been the most trying. The mental aspect of trying not to think about your kidneys failing is challenging.

The need for a transplant has made me more aware of how precious life here on earth is with family and friends. It has made me more attentive to my surroundings and the needs of others. If you are interested in helping me, I would be so grateful.

How You Can Help:

If you're interested in becoming a kidney donor, you can visit Oschner's living donor website,, or contact Rebecca Guillera, Oschner's Living Donor Coordinator, by phone at (504) 842-3925.

You'll need to know my full name, Carroll "Joseph" Mouton, and my birthday, October 21, 1962, to begin the survey process.

If you'd like to ask me any questions, feel free to call me at (504) 451-4722.

If you're not able to donate, please share this with your family and friends. The possibility of finding a donor increases as more people see this. Thank you!
