Joe Johnston

As most of you already know, Joe was taken to a hospital in Nashville  late Saturday evening, April 8th.   He is currently at  St. Thomas West in Nashville.  The doctors were able to get his blood pressure under control and opened up some clogged arteries in his heart early last week.   They are watching him closely since both his heart and kidneys are not functioning optimally.   His heart has an artery that was not able to be cleared, and a heart valve that is not working properly.    The doctors are keeping a close eye on things and are using discernment in intervening when necessary yet not initiating procedures that could have a negative impact on Joe's health. 

He is in good spirits and is making quick friends with all the hospital staff who find him sweet and endearing.  He is eager to engage with visitors telling wonderful heart felt stories - but is being guided by the medical staff to talk less and rest more.  : )
