Welcome to this CaringBridge website for Joe. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. 


-- Wednesday, December 7th, approximately, Joe became ill.  
--  Monday, December 12th, he was admitted to the hospital  in Portsmouth, NH .  
--  Tuesday through Thursday, though Joe began to feel more like himself as the week progressed, his cardiologist was firm in continuing testing because his lab results were inconclusive.  
-- Friday, December 16th, Joe's doctors determined the cause for concern was bacterial and not viral.  Doctors continued testing to evaluate whether his heart defibrillator might be contaminated by bacteria.  
-- Saturday, December 17th, additional testing indicated one or more clusters of bacteria on the wire leading from his defibrillator to his heart.  The decision was made to transport Joe to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.
