What happened? On December 25th my dad fell at home and suffered severe head trauma. He was taken to the hospital right away and has been in the intensive care unit since. He had many injuries, including brain injury. He is currently on a ventilator to help him breathe. My mom, brother and I are very optimistic, but he has a long road to go.
How you can help? Many of you have asked us how to help. I spent the last week with my mom and plan to go back in a few days. My mom has been spending most of the day in the hospital and just comes home to sleep. We anticipate medical bills and other expenses (i.e. transportation, parking, meals) to continue for several weeks. You can support us by making a donation and sharing it with your network. I also created this site to keep you all updated on my dad's journey. We are very grateful for all your encouraging messages and for keeping my dad and family in your thoughts.
Que sucedió? El 25 de Diciembre, mi papa tuvo una caída en su casa que le ocasiono trauma craneoencefálico severo. Fue llevado inmediatamente al hospital y desde entonces se encuentra en cuidados intensivos. Tuvo mucho daño, incluyendo contusión cerebral. Actualmente sigue requiriendo de un respirador artificial. Mi mama, hermano y yo estamos optimistas de su recuperación, sin embargo, será un largo camino.
Como nos pueden ayudar en estos momentos? Como muchos nos han preguntado como ayudar, quiero comentarles que pase la semana pasada junto a mi mama. La mayor parte del tiempo mi mama la pasa en el hospital y solo va un rato a dormir por la noche.
