Jordan was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in November of 2014. This was during hockey tryouts in his first year of high school hockey, and needless to say, his tryouts did not go well. After his diagnosis, he continued to play hockey and soccer, and he excelled at both. Being named as a Varsity soccer captain during his senior year was definitely a highlight. After high school, Jordan decided to pursue a career in auto mechanics at the Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, AZ. He has been attending UTI since January of this year. On April 8, Jordan was in his apartment in Avondale, AZ when he collapsed on the floor after going into diabetic keto acidosis from high blood sugar. He was on the bathroom floor of his apartment for 24 hours before an ambulance was called. He is now in the ICU at Abrazo Hospital West in Goodyear, AZ in a coma.
