Jordan Charles Siegel JordanCharles

back in november, we met with the cardiologist at Arkansas Children's Hospital for an echo of jordan charles's heart. dr. zakaria sat with us, drawing diagrams and answering all of our questions...we left there in awe. the heart is such a miraculous organ! and this surgery...nothing short of magical; the surgeons, truly artists in their own rites!

we are so much better prepared for what is ahead of us! we left there uplifted and encouraged. to say we are grateful to live in this time where doctors have developed a method that can save the life of our child...seems to fall so short of what our own hearts are feeling. they are working with such tiny vessels and arteries, suturing them into their rightful places -- i mean it when i say magical, folks.

the hole between the lower chambers even turns out to be a blessing in this condition. it allows the oxygenated blood to mix with the oxygen-poor blood so our little guy gets what he needs to the rest of his organs, limbs, and muscles after he's born until his surgery. and did you know that a baby's heart, before birth, already has a hole in the top chamber for this blood-mixing that closes up after the first 24 hours of birth? ...being knitted together in my womb, fearfully and wonderfully made...intricately woven in the depths...(Psalms 139:13-16)

forward we move into our future, another adventure ahead of us with hope, courage, strength -- surrounded in love and support, walking in faith that God truly has His hand over us in all of this!
