Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

In November of 2014, Drs at the Mayo Clinic discovered a large melanoma tumor inside Jon's right eye.  They removed his eye with the hope the cancer had been contained.  Though routine screening in March of 2016 it was discovered that the ocular melanoma had metastasized to his liver and his bones.  Jon began immunotherapy 6 weeks ago at Mayo Clinic to help his body fight the cancer, particularly in the liver.  Jon is tolerating the treatment fairly well but has been experiencing quite a bit of pain due to the size and location of the main tumor on his liver.  He struggles with on going, and some days overwhelming, fatique.  However, his mental state and spiritual health are very well.   Our faith runs deep and our confidence is fixed on our great God and His strength.  Jon walks in that knowledge everyday and we pray, with hope, that this treatment will slow or even stop this cancer.  We don't know yet if that is happening but we continue to walk in faith no matter what is ahead. We invite you to pray this with us.  Thank you for your love, prayers and encouragement!  We love hearing from you all!
