If you have no compassion when chemical dependency or addiction steals the one(s) whom you love, how you can you have compassion for yourself when you suffer their loss?

http://www.mntc.org02/14/2016 : It is with a very heavy heart I must communicate the news: Jonathon Edward Allen Heikkenen passed away at 02:17 am, early Sunday morning , in his sleep.
On Wednesday February 3, 2016, Jonathon was was admitted to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), Minneapolis, MN, due to acute respiratory failure. (Originally, he was transferred from St. Mary's hospital in Duluth to HCMC.) Jonathon was sent to HCMC because this hospital has an Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) machine, which he needed to survive. The ECMO acted as his external lung and provided blood oxygenation for 7 days until he healed enough to breathe independently.
