Jonathan Townsend Jonathan’s Miracle

First post: Oct 29, 2017 Latest post: Jan 3, 2018
Tuesday, October 24th Jonathan woke up feeling sick in his dorm room at Umass Amherst. His roommate Karol took him over to the University Health Center. From there he went to a small hospital in North Hampton, Ma. They quickly realized they were in over their head and transferred him to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Ma. On the ambulance ride Jonathan crashed and went into septic shock. Jonathan was then given a miracle. There was no reason why this disease stopped attacking him. He was given a chance to fight for his life. He came to MGH Friday, October 27th where they have been given him the best care possible. Jonathan has meningococcemia and Purpura Fulminans. Meningococcemia is a bacteria infection in the blood and is improving. Purpura Fulminans attacks his extremities. He is at risk at losing skin, toes, or even his feet. He has come so far but has a long battle ahead of him. Our goal is to get him home for Christmas. Jonathan is strong and can beat this. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
