Mom has been on dialysis for 5 years for end stage kidney failure. Over the past 6 months, Mom has been in and out of the hospital multiple times with complications. On Labor Day weekend, she went into septic shock. 2 days later, she went into a complete heart block. We are very lucky to have still had the last few months with her. She did 3 weeks of rehab in a nursing home facility before her body became too tired to fight. She was readmitted on 11/19 for bilateral pneumonia and liver failure. On 11/25, Mom decided to be done with dialysis as it was becoming too dangerous for her heart. Without dialysis, life is not sustainable for more than a few weeks. Now, mom resides at Ava's House for hospice which is end-of-life care. She is at peace and has no pain.  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, messages, phone calls, and any help that has been offered. Please know that nothing has gone without being appreciated.
