Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

How did we get here?  The condensed version - on July 13th I was playing volleyball with some co-workers when I became disoriented.  They called 911 and the EMT arrived and checked my vitals, which were good.  I didn't leave in an ambulance but he convinced them that I still needed to go to a hospital, so they drove me home and Kim dropped the kids off at a neighbors and took me to the hospital. That night a CT scan revealed a tumor in my brain, but not anywhere else in my body.  An MRI revealed that it was likely a grade 4 GlioBlastomaMultiforme (a later pathology confirmed this) and I had brain surgery on July 19 that removed the bulk of the tumor and miraculously left me with no neural deficits. I started chemo/radiation on August 16 and will continue that through October 3rd, then a month off, followed by a new baseline MRI and then 6-12 cycles of chemo. We've applied for Optune which I would use concurrent with the 6-12 cycles of chemo (and maybe longer).

It's been quite the summer.

We are grateful for the prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement.  It means a lot to us in this trying time.  Thank you.
