Jolene Carmona Jolenes journey

Jolene-a funny, loving and caring individual. 30 year old-mother of five little girls, pregnant with twins. Here is her journey.  At the age of 22 she began having pain in her neck with visible lumps, she went to see a doctor to find out was going on. Here is where it all began-she was diagnosed with Cancer. Lymphoma and Thyroid Cancer. Such a young individual with such a horrible disease. In 2010 she underwent a 10hr surgery that was suppose to be 6hrs. When the doctors operated they informed her family that while operated the cancer that was removed was already performing radiation on itself. It appeared to look like tar. Her body was trying to heal itself from this silent killer. She was in ICU with tubes everywhere-a breathing tube, IVs. All every one could think is why her but she pulled through! She is such a strong person both inside and out. She went home with tracheostomy-a hole in her neck to breathe. only she knows what this was all really like. She underwent chemo and radiation to ensure the cancer was gone. One can only imagine how horrible but she knew she had to fight for her daughters.  So that is what she did. Again Jolene is such a caring person, believing the worst had past she went on living her life. 


A year later the cancer had returned. Once again Jolene had gone through a 7 hour surgery. She continued to fight, making it through another battle.  Jolene went on to live her life, being the great mom that she is! 


Always going for her regular doctor visits. It was believed that her cancer had returned. For a 3rd time! She was then operated on once again, no cancer was found. Praise God! Jolene made it through the surgery. Everyone knows Jolene wanted that boy. One night she had a dream that she was pregnant again, with twins. The next day she went to the doctors, she was pregnant with twins. She soon found out she was carrying a boy and a girl. She is finally getting her boy. 


On Sept 8, 2017 she had woken her significant other Richie up at about 4:30 am stating she had a headache. Like anyone Richie went to get her some some Tylenol and when he returned Jolene became unresponsive. This is when she was rushed to the hospital. She had a massive stroke and was hemorrhaging from her brain. Rushed into surgery, the doctors removed a tumor and kept a piece of her skull off due to the swelling. 2hrs later another surgery had occurred due to more bleeding-putting her and her babies at risk. Jolene and the babies survived the surgery and were stable. She is currently awaiting rehab at the moment but two days ago received horrible news that can potentially take her life. The pathology report for the tumor came back positive for grade III-IV Glioblastoma-an aggressive brain cancer. With 5 girls and two babies on the way she continues to fight. She is currently waiting on what the plans will be as far as delivering the babies due to her needing to start chemo and radiation, to continue to fight another battle!
