Jolene Groen

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.   As many of you know, Jolene has been battling cholangiocarcinoma with metastasis since April 2020.   As we all know ,she is one tough women.  She has undergone both IV and oral chemotherapy , along with other infusion therapy.   The past month has been a tough one for her.  The cancer spread into the bone and also her brain.   Her liver cancer also grew which has caused a lot of jaundice and admittance into the Sanford Siouxfalls hospital last Friday March 12th.   Jolene underwent surgery to have stents placed in her bile duct to help with her liver function and decrease her jaundice.  
Currently Jolene has decided given the cancers progression, palliative /Hospice care is the best choice.   This way she can receive the best pain control and treatment .  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
