John was seen in Wheaton ER early Thursday 7/5. He presented to the emergency room with a dry, persistent cough and shortness of breath. Upon arrival, an x-ray of his chest was done; At that time, John had a build up of fluid in his lungs. Wheaton ER made the decision to transport to Fargo ICU for further assessments and treatment. John stabilized well throughout the day Thursday, however at about 5:00pm that evening John was unable to keep his oxygen levels up and his fluid levels in his lungs had tripled over the course of the last 12 hours. At that time, John, his wife, and the doctors made a collaborative decision to intubate, giving John's lungs some time to heal.
