Hi, Everyone. John got home from UPW Sydney in late September, 2017, his jet lag just wouldn't leave. A week later, we went to the ER and a blood test found some blast cells. Two days later John was admitted into Blood Cancer Institute of Colorado with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He has spent 3.5 of the last 4 months in the hospital. Due to the high risk nature of his Leukemia, chemo and radiation are almost guaranteed to fail and cause relapse. A stem cell transplant is the best option and gives him the BEST chance for a cure. On 1/18/18 he received donor stem cells. The lonnnnnnng road to recovery has begun. His sense of humor and stubborn tenacity are in tact and being well utilized on this long journey back to health.
