Hello, and thanks for your interest in my health matter.  I found out thru a normal physical/blood draw back in March, 2011, that my level of "creatinine" (an indicator of kidney function), was abnormally elevated. Subsequent examinations and tests prescribed by a nephrologist, revealed my kidney function was only 17%.  A function of 10% is the benchmark for beginning dialysis.  My kidney doc wanted me to find a donor and get a kidney transplant before the end of the 2011 year.  Fortunately, 2 of my brothers matched my "B" blood type, and brother Mick became my donor.  Mick has been unbelievably positive thru out this journey, for which I am forever grateful and humbled.  My transplant date is October 31, 2011.
